Arashi’s new song “Your Eyes” to be featured in drama ‘Mikeneko Holmes no Suiri’

It has been revealed that the theme song for Aiba Masaki’s new drama ‘Mikeneko Holmes no Suiri’(NTV) will be Arashi’s new song “Your Eyes“.

After Ohno Satoshi’s Fuji TV drama “Kagi no Kakatta Heya” announced that their theme song would be Arashi’s new single “Face Down“, fans were left wondering what would be the theme song for Aiba Masaki’s new drama and were pleased to know it would Arashi’s new song. The release date or any other information of “Your Eyes” has not been decided yet.

This drama is adapted from the popular mystery novel series ‘Mikeneko Holmes’ by Akagawa Jiro.
The story features a detective, Katayama Yoshitaro(Aiba) with a lot of weak points, solve mysteries with Mikeneko (a cat with fur of different colors).

As co-stars, Ohkura Tadayoshi from Kanjani8, Fujiki Naohito, Omasa Aya, Matsuko Deluxe and Omi Toshinori will appear in the drama.

The first episode will air on April 14th at 9:00 pm (JST)

SID releases PV for their upcoming single “Nokoriga”

SID will release their singles “Nokoriga” on May 2nd and “S” on May 9th.

“Nokoriga” is the April theme song for NTV program ‘Sukkiri!‘, and “S” is theme song for an upcoming horror movie, ‘Sadako 3D‘.

Both songs were performed at their live concert at Zepp Tokyo on March 16th, exciting the crowd of 2,700 fans.

HUNTER x HUNTER’ to get film version

2012 seems to be the year of revival as not only drama’s are making a comeback but animations as well. Popular manga/anime “HUNTER x HUNTER” started re-airing last year with a new set of voice actors and story telling.

Now it’s been revealed that its anime film version is underway for ‘Gon’ and friends. So far the only information that has been revealed is that the movie will have an original story line. More will be revealed from Togashi in Weekly Shonen Jump, on sale March 19th.

Ashida Mana to continue her singing career with a 2nd single in May

On March 15th, it was revealed that child actress Ashida Mana (7) is going to release her second single called “Zutto Zutto Tomodachi” in May.

Last year the adorable young actress made her singing debut together with fellow child actor Suzuki Fuku (7). Their single “Maru-Maru-Mori-Mori!” sold over 533,000 copies, and ranked eighth on the Oricon weekly charts. Moreover she became the youngest person ever to perform at NHK’s annual music show “Kouhaku Uta Gassen“.

Ashida’s solo debut with the single “Suteki na Nichiyobi ~Gyu Gyu good day!~” (fourth place on Oricon) in October of last year was a great success as well. Now, seven months later, she’s preparing her second single “Zutto Zutto Tomodachi”, which also will be used as the ending song for the upcoming TV anime ‘Jewelpet Kira Deco!‘ (first episode airs on April 7th) as well as the theme song for the upcoming anime movie “Jewelpet the Movie: Sweets Dance Princess” (opens on August 11th). The former will also use the single’s coupling song “Happy Lucky ☆ Go!” as its opening theme.

The ‘Jewelpet‘ series is very popular among girls of Ashida’s age. Moreover she, herself, is said to be a big fan of the series and was very happy when she received the offer to sing the theme song. The recording for the new songs took place recently, and the young actress was said to be brimming with energy. “It became such a nice and feel-good song,” she commented. “I hope that everyone will sing along with it. Please continue to look over me!”

“Zutto Zutto Tomodachi” will be hitting the store shelves on May 16th.

Kis-My-Ft2 to make regular appearance on TV Asahi’s new variety show

Seven-member group from Johnny & Associates, Inc., Kis-My-Ft2 will make their regular appearance on TV Asahi’s new program “Hama Kis“, which will be the first regular program for the group.

The program will be a “variety school” show, in which Kis-My-Ft2 members will receive instructions about the fundamentals of variety shows, by another regular cast member Hamaguchi Masaru (of comedian duo Yoiko) and two guest comedians. It was once aired as a special program back in December last year.

Member, Fujigaya Taisuke commented happily, “It was our dream to be regulars of a variety show with all seven of us. There’s nothing to it but to try it!” Hamaguchi also commented, “I will train them relentlessly, and make them into ‘variety mosters.”

Though “Hama Kis” will start on April 4th (every Wednesday at 1:21 am), a special episode will air on March 23rd.

AKB48 reveals title + April tour dates for upcoming nationwide tour

we reported that popular idol group AKB48 will be touring all 47 prefectures in Japan. Now, the title and first tour dates have been revealed!

The tour will be titled “AKB48 Nationwide Tour 2012 ‘Nonaka Misato’ Ugoku. ~47 Todofuken de Aimashou~’“, and will officially kick off next month. Currently, they are scheduled to hold 5 concerts starting on April 6th at Fukuoka Sun Palace Hotel & Hall.

Tickets will gradually go on sale starting March 31st. Additional dates will be announced through the group’s official website at a later date.

Shōkōjo Seira (小公女セイラ) A Little Princess

Shōkōjo Seira (小公女セイラ) is a 2009 Japanese drama, airing on Saturdays from 7:56pm, at TBS. The main character Seira, played by Mirai Shida, overcomes many ordeals at the Millenius Seminary boarding school. The story is based on the children's novel A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Synopsis
Seira was raised in India, but she is sent back to Japan to continue her education at an affluent boarding high school. Although she has lived in luxury, the well-bred Seira is kind and generous, earning her many friends at the school. One person who dislikes Seira is the school's director, though she treats Seira well due to the father's fortune. Then, during Seira's 16th birthday party, the director informs her that her father has died, leaving her penniless. As a result, she is forced to work as a servant in order to pay off her school bills.
